What is Hugrekki?

Hugrekki" is Icelandic and translates to "Courage" or "Bravery." In a sentence: "Það kostar hugrekki en það borgar sig til langs tíma litið," translates to "It requires courage, but it pays off in the long run." In the context of change processes, it is also courage that pays off. The courage to embrace change, to consider new perspectives, incorporate fresh viewpoints, and to break free from old beliefs and behaviors. My aim is to inspire this courage in the business leaders I advise.

Inner independence, coupled with the courage to identify the roots of conflicts and creatively find pragmatic and sustainable solutions. Extensive professional experience in management and as a coach for executives supports me in these endeavors

Transformations require courage

After 30 years of leadership roles in consulting and corporate environments both domestically and internationally, I embarked on the journey of entrepreneurship in 2022. My decision was driven by the desire to fully dedicate myself to my passion: the successful implementation of organizational changes from within.

Examples of successful transformations under my leadership:

  • Restructuring the Finance Operations division at a large international insurance company. Despite realignment and significant workforce reduction, the division won the corporate award for 'Efficiency and Effectiveness Enhancement' during the restructuring.

  • Defining, introducing, and embedding a company-wide leadership framework for a major insurance company. This multi-year program was a key element in the company's journey to being named 'Employer of the Year 2022' in the insurance industry by the ZEIT Publishing Group in collaboration with the Kununu review platform.
